Families Who Camp Together, Stay Together

I'm sitting in my bed, half unpacked from our first camping trip of the year. Exhausted (the good kind). Sunburnt. Thankful.

It still surprises me every time I get home from a trip how simple, yet almost necessary I find our weekend trips. There's nothing better than packing the essentials - a new book, movies, Apples to Apples, Bananagrams - and spending the whole weekend occupied by those things and the sweet conversation of family and friends.
The stars were magnificent this weekend. Saturday night Samuel played guitar for everyone around the campfire. We sang some old hymns and stuffed our faces with s'mores. God puts the stars on display and will give you moments to set aside and enjoy them. You just have to look up.

Here are some pictures from our trip to excitedly announce: camping season has arrived!

Always pack some movies to pop in.
This weekend we watched Monsters University and Frozen!

Welcome to our crib.

He was actually really excited about cooking breakfast
Saturday morning at the campground. That's my dad, for ya.

Goin' on a hike!

Homemade guacamole for potluck per the Potts family campers.

I finally started Insurgent (the second book in the Divergent trilogy).

Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. Isaiah 40:26

  1. If you were a person selling camping trips, I'd buy one from you. Great post!
